Airbus has revised it's sales forecast of the new A380 project.

Original extimates of 270 aircraft sales for the project to break even seem to have been optomistic.

With current orders of 159, Airbus has a long way to go on!
19/10/2006 Tamil Tiger attack in Galle
For the first time in nine years Tamil Tigers have attacked a city in Sri Lanka.

Galle has a historic fort, a Unesco World Heritage Site, making the city a favorite with holidaymakers.

The attack opens questions about the safety of tourists in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Tourist Board has stated that Galle is a safe tourist destination.

The attack, a suicide boat attack, was targetted at the naval base situated south of the city.

Tourists are being warned that, although there is no indication of further attacks, there is currently a curfew on the city.

 19/10/2006 Ryanair Introduces 'Priority Boarding'
Ryanair has introduced a 'Priority Boarding' system allowing online checkin.

This is a service that is going to clearly upset families who prior to this new system were boarded first, free of charge.

The new 'Priority Boarding' system will cost £2.00 per flight and gives those travelling with just hand luggage the added benefit of avoiding all queues.

One parent we spoke to said "It is difficult enough travelling with young children without airlines putting added pressure on families. To force families to pay to sit together is totally ridiculous".
 18/10/2006 American Passport Enforcement
US Congress has passed new laws making it mandatory for Amrican citizens to carry passport in the Caribbean.

The World Travel and Tourism Council fears massive job losses and forecast the region will lose in excess of US$2.6 billion in tourism revenue.

It is reported that only 27% of all Americans have a valid, current passport.

The fears come following a recent study by WTTC found that eight out of ten Americans visiting Jamaica did not use a passport prefering to travel with just their driving licence.

These new laws start to come into effect from the 6th January 2007 and will be implemented through the year with completion expected by the 1st January 2008
