The natural resources of Lesotho are its main exports namely water and diamonds. Water is sold to South Africa and pumped through the Lesotho Highlands Water Project where water is piped for miles into South Africa.
A big diamond producing country, even today it is possible to find diamonds washed out of the rocks by the many rivers in Lesotho.
Even so, Lesotho is a very poor country with many of its farming community still living in basic mud huts with thatched roofs.
