The Sultanate of Oman is located on the south east coast of the Arabian Peninsula.

Coastal Oman is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the south and the Gulf of Oman to the north. Land frontiers include Yemen, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

The climate in Oman is best described as arid with slight variations from region to region. The coastal areas are hot and humid during the summer months whilst the interior is hot and dry. The interior desert temperatures can reach 54 degrees during the summer months with a minimum temperature as low as 15 degrees.

Probably the most comfortable time to visit Oman for the tourist is between October and April. With warm days and cool evenings average day time temperatures around 30 degrees with evening temperatures a comfortable 17 - 19 degrees.
